Storyline:

Cast:

Ajay Devgan, Tabu, Akshay Khanna, Shreya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Rajat Kapoor, Mrunal Jadhav, Saurabh Shukla and many more.

Movie Review:

The follow-up to Drishyam, which is based on the same-named Malayalam thriller, picks off where the 2015 movie left off. Vijay Salgaonkar (Ajay Devgan) is seen leaving a police station with a shovel. The fact that there was a witness to the nearly perfect crime seven years ago gives the police motivation and ammunition to review the Sameer Deshmukh missing case inquiry so many years later.

Now a theatre owner, Vijay has an ambition to adapt one of his own stories into a movie. While his younger daughter Anu (Mrunal Jadhav) is in her teens, his older daughter Anju (Ishita Dutta) is still recovering from the shock of horrific occurrences. Everyone in the family, including his wife Nandini (Shreya Saran), is going about their daily lives while being cautious. Additionally, they always feel a creeping sensation of fear. The Salgaonkars' lives are turned upside down by a sequence of unanticipated incidents as a truth threatens to upend everything.

Even the community's support for Vijay from seven years ago starts to wane as the plot develops and many start to wonder if he really did commit the crime. When Sameer's mother and former IG Meera (Tabu) get involved in the police investigation under the direction of Police IG inspector Tarun Ahlawat (Akshay Khanna), the movie really picks up steam. Sameer's accidental death in Drishyam served as the basis for both movies. This time, they don't minimise the protagonist while following the leads.

Director Abhishek Pathak here follows the same format as the first film, which was directed by the late Nishkant Kamat. As he subtly increases the tension in the story, the family's fear and anxiety are evident. Every character has a specific role as the inquiry goes on, which heightens the drama and tension.

As a devoted parent who guards his family from harm, Ajay Devgan excels. He is a straightforward individual with a keen mind. Akshay Khanna, who has previously played a cop in movies like Mom and Ittefaq, adds a lot of seriousness to these suspenseful events. As Meera, a mother seeking justice for her kid, Tabu is simply superb. As her husband who is anxious for everything to be resolved immediately, Rajat Kapoor excels. Gaitonde, played by Kamlesh Sawant once more, is still a vicious and vengeful individual. Other Salgaonkars Shreya Saran, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav plays similar role as in last film. Saurabh Shukla plays important role of Murad Ali a writer to unfold the mystery.

Sahi galat, the title tune and accompanying credits song by Amitabh Bhattacharya, is a positive song. Sath hum rahein is a slow song, but it's beautifully shot to show the bond that families share. The rock star DSP (Devi Sri Prasad)'s music fits in beautifully and heightens the drama.

Overall, just like its predecessor, Drishyam 2 offers a tonne of surprises to keep you hooked the entire time. Additionally, the Salgaonkars' story is still fresh in people's minds.

England defeats India by 10 wickets to get to the final thanks to Alex Hales and Jos Buttler.

With all of England's game-changing brilliance, this victory that advances them to the Men's T20 World Cup final in 2022 came down to getting the fundamentals right.

In Adelaide, they guarded the short square boundaries, allowing just two sixes before the beginning of the death overs.

When the ball was coming on nicely under the lights during the powerplay, they sensed an opportunity to blow open a chase of 169 and seized it, smashing 10 boundaries while the field was up.

In just a matter of time score of 63 for 0 in six overs become 170 for 0 in 16 overs. Jos Buttler and A Hales unleash the real power which was lacking in most of the tournament.

The comeback of Hales - Storm.

England played in a manner they had vowed never to on a miserable, rainy night at the MCG against Ireland. When the captain finally emerged, he remarked, "Let it pain."

Although intense, pain also serves to bring insight at the same time as it confuses. In that it compels people to take every precaution to avoid experiencing it ever again. And that's what took place.

England have batted and bowled with the utmost clarity since that defeat to Ireland, when they were constantly doubting their own abilities. Hales was chosen with the utmost clarity. He was well-versed in Australian conditions when he arrived. They required that knowledge. Call was made by Buttler. The reward is now at hand.

A player who had a long history of being a troublemaker for the England squad received a second opportunity. And he has paid back their trust with an innings that demolished the biggest superpower in cricket.

By himself, Hales hit seven sixes, matching India's total sixes in this game by shattering their bowlers. In order to clear Adelaide's enormous 88-meter straight limits, he even backed himself.

India faced a bowling attack that only let them score 64 runs from 46 balls square of the wicket in the first 15 overs when they were batting. However, England did not have these limitations. Indian bowlers gave their batters all the space they required to get to the short boundary. In their first 15 overs, Hales and Buttler scored 98 runs off 54 balls square of the wicket.

Brilliant Buttler.

This is how a match up is breaked. Buttler has been removed five times in 32 balls by Bhuvneshwar Kumar in T20I cricket prior to this match.

He must have been aware of this since on the first ball, he rushed out of his crease with the intention of neutralising the Indian bowler's greatest asset. He swung.

Buttler finished the night on 80 off 49 and was making the same types of strokes all night.

Adil Rashid was front-loaded against India's right-hand heavy top order. The legspinner also eliminated Suryakumar Yadav.

He reaffirmed Chris Jordan's faith in his yorkers. One of those toppled Virat Kohli off his feet.

With one shot, he subdued a throng of 40,094 people who had been riled up by Hardik Pandya.

Buttler was at the centre of a number of positive developments, but the most of them likely began in the planning stages.

The game was won by England in the locker room. By slowing down, they were able to contain a player who could move in all directions since at least then you could only defend one side of the field. something which stands in front of the batter.

Even after the legspinner had been penalised for a boundary first ball just because he had dared to toss it up, Buttler still supported Rashid to pull off this heist.

Rashid would easily have protected his figures tonight. Sat back and pointed people to his tournament economy rate (6.25). But no, he didn't. He bought into the game and picked up perhaps the most important wicket for England.

Suryakumar is the guy India look to for acceleration through the middle and the death. With him gone for 14 off 10, the game was changed.

H Pandya rising at the right time.

Only one play in the entire game saw England lose it. Hardik then made the decision that enough was enough.

At the beginning of the 17th over, he was 13 off of 15. India had a 110 for 3 score. They had made attempts to trouble England.

A one-bounce four over extra cover off a near Jordan yorker was one of Rohit Sharma's best shots of the game, but he was out three balls later.

After striking Ben Stokes for six and four, Suryakumar lost.

Due to all of this, Kohli entered anchor mode, which required the other player to go big.

So did Hardik. He launched the helicopter attack on Jordan. He assisted Sam Curran in guiding a wide yorker for four past short third. He swung flat at short balls all over the field.

In their last four overs, India scored 58 runs. Hardik was the source of fifty of them. His scoring progression from the 18th over was as follows: 6, 6, 0, 1, 1, 4, 6, 4, 1, 6, 4, out (having trodden on his stumps while whipping the ball for what would have been another four). Of those 12, five were tries at yorkers. Numerous of them touched down fairly close to the ideal location.

From looking like they would be lucky to get to 140, India posted 168 runs on the board which gives the a lot of hope.

And then nothing happened. The way English openers batted, Indian batsman should have thought on there extra cautious approach especially in first 10 overs where they were 62 for 2.

Match summary:

India: 168/6 in 20 overs ( Hardik 63, Kohli 50, Jordan 3-43)

England: 170/0 in 16 overs ( Hales 86*, Buttler 80* )

Result:

England beat India by 10 wickets with 24 balls remaining.

Near-perfect Pakistan easily defeats New Zealand to advance to the final.

After Shaheen Afridi and Co. put pressure on New Zealand, the old company of Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam finished the job that night.

Pakistan, which fell to Zimbabwe earlier in the competition and was only able to advance to the semifinals because to Netherlands' improbable victory over South Africa, has sailed into the 2022 Men's T20 World Cup final after playing a nearly flawless game.

In this game, so many fantastic aspects of the Pakistani team came together. By trapping Finn Allen in front with a nasty inswinger third delivery, Shaheen Afridi secured his first over wicket. As they had done consistently throughout the competition, their seamers controlled the back half of the innings, allowing only 53 runs off the final six overs.

After holding New Zealand to 152 for 4, who had trouble finding boundaries, their openers then resumed their brilliant play. After being dropped in the opening over, Babar Azam scored 53 runs off 42 deliveries, slamming spinners and flicking quicks through square leg. When the two added 105 runs for the first wicket, Mohammad Rizwan was even more brilliant, striking 57 off 43.

As Pakistan lost its openers and slowed down a little at the end, there was a tiny stutter. However, Babar and Rizwan had foolproofed the chase. They win the game by 5 balls to spare.

Williamson and Mitchell provide some relief.

Overs 11 to 14 of New Zealand's own innings are perhaps when they can say they were in control. At the midway point, they were 59 for 3, and they needed to get going immediately. Mitchell scored two fours off Shadab Khan's eleventh over of bowling. Williamson smashed the first six of the innings in the thirteenth over, smacking Mohammad Wasim over deep square leg, and Mitchell then blasted Shadab over the sightscreen in the fourteenth. They scored a total of 40 runs in those four overs. After that time, they did not continue to score at that rate.

Pakistan dominant at the death.

At 99 for 3 at the end of the 14th over, New Zealand wasn't exactly in great shape, but considering the strength of their middle order, they might have been able to surpass 160. The quick bowlers for Pakistan varied their pace, delivered brilliantly to their fields, and were supported beautifully in the field this evening, where Pakistan shone. Only three fours could be mustered by New Zealand in the final six overs; they were forced to rely on hard-run twos, with Daryl Mitchell taking the lead on these.

Babar and Rizwan attack the New Zealand seamers.

When the Babar nicked his first ball in the opening over, Trent Boult had a chance to get him. Devon Conway, though, was only able to stick the webbing of his gloves to the opportunity after diving.

The Pakistani openers put the innings into high gear in Boult's following over, where it remained for the length of their stand. Before Rizwan thumped him squarely on the offside and glanced him clear, Babar crashed Boult through point. The two then took 15 off that over. They scored 15 runs off Tim Southee's second over, with Rizwan hitting him twice through midwicket and Babar hitting him through backward square leg.

The spinners provided New Zealand a little control, but the pair negotiated that period smartly, rarely failing to find the boundary off the bad balls. By the end of the 12th, the required rate was just 6.37.

M Haris gives the finishing touch.

After Babar and Rizwan were gone, play slowed down. There was also some unease when Rizwan was dismissed at the end of the 17th over, leaving Pakistan needing 21 runs off of 18 deliveries. However, Mohammad Haris put Pakistan back on the easy path to triumph in the following match. After backing off and hitting a Lockie Ferguson yorker outside of mid-off for four, he sat back and hooked the following ball into the stands. Although he was out before the winning run, he had already secured the victory.

Match summary:

NZ: 152/4 in 20 overs ( Mitchell 53*, Williamson 46, S Afridi 2-24 )

Pak: 153/3 in 19.1 overs ( Rizwan 57, Babar 53, T Boult 2-33 )

Result:

Pakistan won by 7 wickets with 5 balls remaining.
